30 APRIL 2008 - The North FaceŽ Athlete, Simone Moro, To Present New Book in Milan on 7 May
The North FaceŽ today announced that sponsored mountaineer Simone Moro will present his new book to the public for the first time on Wednesday, 7 May 2008 at the Mondadori Multicenter in Milan.
An impassioned and prodigious climber, Moro has made over 30 major mountaineering expeditions, six of which were during the wintertime. His climbing resume boasts three Mt. Everest summits, and ascents of four other 8,000-meter peaks, including a January 2005 climb of Shishapangma that earned him the title of the only non-Polish mountaineer to achieve a high-altitude wintertime climb. The Italian Moro recently returned from a three-month wintertime expedition to Broad Peak (K3), although treacherous weather ultimately prevented him from reaching the summit. Put simply, Moro is one of most respected and renowned climbers in the world.
The public and press are invited to celebrate the book’s publication with a free book launch sponsored by The North FaceŽ on 7 May in Milan. Beginning at 6:30 pm in the Mondadori Multicenter on Corso Vittorio and Emanuele Milan, Moro will share images and passages from the book, and will answer questions from the audience.
