The North Face Global Athlete Team Member, Dean Karnazes, will lead the way over the 1K course. The Kid’s Run is a great activity for friends and family of those racing on Saturday, and for Sunday racers who opt to pickup race packets on Saturday at the Festival.

Registration is FREE for all kids 12 and under. Each participant will receive a finisher medal, race number, and race photo. Registration will take place on-site only on Saturday at the Karno Kid’s booth at the Endurance Challenge Festival. For more details on the Karno Kid's Race, visit your market specific race page.

Rideshare Opportunities – Why not rideshare to this year’s Endurance Challenge events? Reduce the strain on available parking needs and more importantly impact to the environment. You may even make some new friends along the way! Pickup Pal is but one resource for connecting with fellow Endurance Challenge runners to arrange a ride share. Click here.

B.Y.O.B. (BOTTLE) – Sustainability and conservation form the core of The North Face pledge to advance the well-being of the planet and those who enjoy exploring it. As part of the ongoing effort to reduce the carbon footprint of the Endurance Challenge Series, The North Face is eliminating from the Finish Festival single serve plastic bottles of water and limiting the distribution of disposable cups in 2010. There will be an abundance of water available for Endurance Challenge runners and spectators alike. With the free and secure gear check at the Finish Festival, you can pack your reusable bottles and easily access it upon finishing. Simply bring your reusable bottle from home and help yourself from the coolers and gallons of water around the Finish Festival. It's that easy to make a difference!

What difference does it make?
– 1.5 million tons of waste per year is attributed to bottled water
– Bottled water production requires 47 million gallons of oil per year
– 80% of plastic bottles are simply thrown away
– That which does not go to landfills can end up in the ocean and other bodies of water, which in turn negatively affect delicate ecosystems and the marine life and birds that inhabit them

So, add your favorite Nalgene, Klean Kanteen, Sigg, or reusable sport bottle to your gear list and drink up! If you forget to bring your bottle from home, there will be bottles for sale and paper cups will be made available on a limited basis. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this effort. It is greatly appreciated.
