Athlete to Athlete Interview:

Greg Child with Megan Pischke

Bio:

Megan "Megs" Pischke has been snowboarding for more than a decade -- long before there were Olympic or X-Games heroes to look up to. It was a natural progression from skateboarding and surfing as a kid, and it was her excuse to her parents for why she had to get a new job after every powder day. She chased the boys around on the hill, trying to pass them, and was especially inspired by Morgan Lafonte and Barrett Christy. After losing one of her best friends to an avalanche in 1994, Megan took Mother Nature much more seriously and took some avalanche classes, dreaming of big Alaska lines. Although winning freestyle and boardercross contests was her original industry "in," she headed into the backcountry to round out her riding (and experience some softer landings). She joined The North Face Athlete Team in 1998 and has charged for them ever since. Megan continues to excel in halfpipe and slopestyle competitions, and she brings her freestyle technique to backcountry freeriding. She has ridden first descents in Turkey, Greenland and the Yukon. From filming with Warren Miller to X-Games appearances, Megan gives every aspect of her career 110 percent.
